This train journey is perhaps the most spectacular in the world on the newly opened line to Lhasa, the mysterious capital of Tibet. An engineering marvel the line took over a decade to build. It is the highest railway in the world. At the Tangula Pass the railway travels at an altitude of 5072m above sea level. This unusual journey also leads you from Qinghai province to Tibet.   • Arrive in Xining

    Airport to Hotel Transfer -Xining, Ta’er Monastery, Youyi store
    Ta’er Monastery (2 hours): The Ta'er Monastery is located in Huangzhong County, 26 kilometers from Xining, capital of Qinghai Province. It's the Buddhist garden buildings, combining the architectural arts of the Zang and Han nationalities. A lot of cultural relics are stored in the temple, including all kinds of instruments used in Buddhism, statues of Buddha in different poses, profound sutras and stone inscriptions in language of the Zang and Man nationalities, as well as Mongolian.
    - sanyurongfeng hotel : This hotel is located in a golden street.They have President room、luxurious room、Multi-function hall and about 40 inter-packets and one banquet hall for 800 people dinning at the same time
    - youyi store : This store is near the　Tibetan Monastery - Ta'er temple and sells more than a thousand products.

  • Xining/Lhasa-Overnight Train

    - Qinghai Lake (20 minutes): Qinghai Lake, China's largest inland salt water lake is 3200 meters above sea level and is situated at the east of Qinghai province, around 2.30 hours drive from Xining. The ellipse-shaped lake looks like a huge poplar leaf sitting on the alpine prairie. Scenery in Qinghai Lake varies according to seasons. Summer and autumn are the most comfortable weather conditions and the lake's scenery is most beautiful during these seasons.
    - Cruise on Qinghai Lake (20 minutes): Cruise on Qinghai Lake get enchanting view of Qinghai Lake.

  • Overnight Train to Lhasa

    Tour starts from the religious Potala Palace (3700 m )built in the 7th century by the famous Tibetan king-Songtzen Gampo. The present one was built by the 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th century. It became known as the "Winter Palace" by the 1750, when the 7th Dalai Lama built the Norbulingka Park as his summer residence. After lunch, you will visit Jokhang Temple, situated in the old section of Lhasa. King Songtzen Gampo built this temple in the mid-7th century A.D. Now it is the most sacred place in Tibet. Pilgrims come here to pay homage from all over Tibet. Visit Barkhore Street in the evening.
    Day 4

  • Lhasa

    Meal: None
    Accommodation: Lhasa
    Full day sightseeing takes you to Drepung Monastery which is the largest of the monastery of the Gelug Sect in Tibet. . After that, you will visit Norbulingka Park. In 1752, the 7th Dalai Lama built the first palace here for successive Dalai Lamas to carry out their political and religious activities during the summer season. Today Norbulingka has become a public park for picnicking, relaxing and entertainment.

  • Depart Lhasa
