Dazu Grottoes, religious rock carvings during Tang and Song Dynasty, mainly includes Baoding Mountain and Beishan Mountain. Its theme is mainly about Buddhism and it also represents exquisite grotto art of ancient China.
Take bus to Dazu County after breakfast (about 2.5 hours).
Visit one of the World Cultural Relics, Dazu Baoding Mountain Grottoes (about 1.5-2 hours). There are about 360 giant carvings, such as Six Transmigrations, Guang Da Bao Lou Ge (Vast Treasure Tower), The Statues of Two Sages of Huayan and Thousand-hand Goddess Guanyin.
Return to Chongqing in the afternoon.
