The emergency transshipment over the Three Gorges Dam was finished on the 29th of March of 2012. Due to coordinate the overhaul of the ship locks of the Three Gorges, 80000 people have been transferred by the emergency transshipment.

Due to reduce the influence to the economy when the ship locks of Three Gorges have been overhauled, Yangtze Cruise and people were transferred to the land without crossing the Three Gorges ship locks since the 5th to 29th of March of 2012.

There is the Yichang Port under the Three Gorges Dam. Due to protect Yangtze Cruise and people, large numbers of policeman have joined to work together. Some of facilities also have been set up for the safety of the emergency transshipment.
