The second stage is from 1998-2003 in 6 years. The power station of left bank began to install and the construction of the permanent navigation lock was still working.

The third stage of Three Gorge Project is from 2003 – 2009, the power station on the right bank began to built.

The whole Three Gorges Reservoir is 600 meters long and 2000 meters in width. It covers 10000 square kilometers.
