Nowadays, Yangtze Cruise and freighter ship on Yangtze River easily. But in Yangtze River history, Yangtze River navigation developed since the New China established in 1949.

Yangtze River Port Development

There were only about 100 simple ports along Yangtze River, and each of the Yangtze River port could support 4.4 million ton of ships. The Yangtze River ports were once constructed in Nanjing City, Wuhan City and Chongqing Municipality.

In 1920s, premier Zhouenlai approved the construction plan of Yangtze River ports. From that, more and better Yangtze River ports began to build.

In 2008, the ports which constructed in main stream of Yangtze River could support the 1.015 billion goods. There are three largest Yangtze River Ports built in Nanjing City, Suzhou City and Nantong City. There are two bonded ports built in Zhangjiagang and Chongqing Municipality. Besides that, there are other 15 of excellent water transportation ports built along Yangtze River. Witt more and more Yangtze River ports built, the Yangtze River ports system is gradually formed.

Yangtze Cruise in Yangtze River History

In 1949, there were only 813 Yangtze Cruises and freighters ship along Yangtze River. The ships are mostly little wooden boat.

In 2008, there were 150000 Yangtze Cruises ship along Yangtze River, which could support the weight of 50 million ton. There are more and more navigation industries started working for Yangtze River business.

The freighter on Yangtze River becomes more professional and normative. The economic growth freighter volume keeps increasing.

Safety of Yangtze Cruise in Yangtze River History

There was no rescue measure when Yangtze Cruise or freighter was dangerous on Yangtze River before the establishment of the New China.

In the years, the safety of Yangtze Cruise's and freighter's is paid much attention by Chinese people. There are many advanced facilities provided along Yangtze River to assure the safety of Yangtze Cruise and freighter and the people. The emergency system on Yangtze River gradually formed.
