Buddhism of Baoding Mountain

Baoding (Treasure Peak) Mountain, fifteen kilometers northeast of Dazu, is well-known for its comprisal of more than ten thousand magnificent sculptures. Those located in Dafowan are best preserved and most numerous. Dafowan is a U-shaped range of hills about fifteen to thirty meters high and some five hundred meters long. The statue carved on the eastern, southern and northern cliffs of the valley are patterned in accordance with the terrain of the hills, resulting in natural and magnificent structure. Consisted of more than 15,000 stone sculptures in l9 groups of the Buddhist stories, the statues in the Baoding Mountain Grottoes look so marvelous that each of them is portrayed in different poses and with different expressions.

Activity of Dazu Grottoes

The 3rd Dazu International Tourism Culture Festival will be held in Dazu City from the 9th to 15th, Chongqing Municipality.

During the activities of Dazu International Tourism Culture Festival, the Lady's photographic activity will invite the ladies from Europe, Southeast Asia and America and other cities. The opening ceremony will invite the Chinese People's Liberation Army song and dance chorus and other famous singers.

Dazu Stone Carvings will be displayed in Canada

From the 20th September, 2012 to the 17th March next year, the Dazu Stone Carvings will be displayed in Canada.

Consists of 48 lithoidal cultural relics, 20 replicas of Dazu Stone Carvings, photos of Dazu Stone Carvings, 80 oil painting of Dazu Stone Carvings and other artworks, the exhibition divides into 5 parts. Most of the lithoidal cultural relics could date back to Song, Ming and Qing Dynasty, which features the combination of Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism. The value of the artworks is worth of more than 70 million Yuan.
