Chongqing Municipality

Chongqing is a municipality city of China. It is the economic center and financial center of upper reaches of Yangtze River. Chongqing is the important modern manufacturing base of China but also the ecological demonstration area of upper reaches of Yangtze River. Besides that, Chongqing is the economic demonstration area of western China and it is the main navigation center of upper reaches of Yangtze River, for example, Yangtze Cruise especially the Yangtze Victoria Cruise gains influential profits every year cruising on Yangtze River.

In addition, Chongqing is a capital during the Second World War. And it is the Anti-fascist command center of Eastern World. Thus, Chongqing has a very long history with profound culture.

Chongqing Natural Reserve

In January, 2012 so far, there are 58 of natural reserves in Chongqing Municipality, which Mt. Jinfo and Mt. Jinyun and other four natural reserves are national natural reserves.

According to the statistical data, the natural reserves of Chongqing contain more than 90% wild fauna and flora and the habitat, besides more than 80% ecosystem and biological species diversity.

Chongqing National Natural Reserve

Mt. Jinfo, Mt. Jinyun, Mt. Daba, Yangtze River fishes, Mt. Xuebao and mountain ridge of Wuxia Country are National Natural Reserves of Chongqing Municipality.

There are silver fir and Davidia involucrate and other rare plants. There are many precious fishes such as paddlefish, Acipenser dabryanus and other kinds of animals in Yangtze River. In Mt. Wuling, there are golden monkeys and clouded leopards and other animals.
