Yangtze River Civilization Ⅱ – The Middle Reaches of Yangtze River

Travel to Jiangxi Province with Yangtze Cruise to enjoy the cultural landscape of Yangtze River history. In middle reaches of Yangtze River, numbers of historic relics have been explored. The ten-thousand Fairy Cave and bucket ruins are representative of the development history between the later Paleolithic age and the early Neolithic Period. There is complete and distinct strata accumulation.

In 1990s, the US-China cooperation team of agricultural archaeologists found the Phytolith (a kind of plant fossil) of rice planting in early strata of Neolithic Period, which could date back to 10 thousand years ago. This discovery is the evidence to prove that the rice planting history could date back to ten thousand years ago. Thus the historic relics have been one of the earliest origination places of rice planting of the world. In the meanwhile, the earliest ancient pottery has been found in the historic relics, which could date back to 17000 years ago.

Yangtze River Civilization Ⅱ – The Lower Reaches of Yangtze River

In the lower reaches of Yangtze River, Hemudu Culture, Majiabang Culture and Liangzhu Culture are representative of the Neolithic Period Culture.

Hemudu Cultural relic has been found in 1973. After two excavations, there are about 7000 trea precious cultural relics have been explored, such as piles of rice.

In 1950s, there is a group of Yin-Shang Dynasty cultural relics found in Yangtze River Basin.

Yangtze River Civilization Ⅱ – Ancient Town of Shang Dynasty

The first ancient town of Shang Dynasty has been found in the middle reaches of Yangtze River, which could date back to 3500 years ago. It is magnificent cultural landscape. The palace site is survived. This historic site witnesses the different class of slave society.

The ancient copper mine is conserved well and it is the earliest one in Chinese history. Other cultural relics such as bronze ware, jade article and pottery could date back to 3200 years ago featuring the Southern China' culture but also the Yangtze River Basin Culture.
