They are Panzhihua, Yibin, Luzhou, Chongqing Municipality, Yichang, Jingzhou, Shishou, Yueyang, Xianning, Wuhan, Ezhou, Huanggang, Huangshi, Jiujiang, Anqing, Chizhou, Tongling, Hefei, Wuhu, Manshan, Nanjing, Zhenjiang, Taizhou, Nantong, Shanghai Municipality, Ningbo and Zhoushan.

During Yangtze River History, the economic growth of coastwise cities features five aspects.

1.Yangtze River delta has become the rapid economic development area of China. It is also one of the central areas of the world manufacturing industry, shipping industry, financial industry and business industry.

2.Three of largest urban business district have been established in Yangtze River Basin. One is the area of cities of Yangtze River delta centered in Shanghai Municipality; one is the area of cities and seaports centered in Wuhan City. And the other one is the area of cities and seaports centered in Chongqing Municipality.

3.The Yangtze River golden watercourse has been improved because of the establishment and operation of the Yangtze River hydropower station. Thus the economy has been increased.

4.Yangtze River transportation has become the key point between the development of the west regions and Eastern China.

5.The Pearl River basin and coastwise cities have been developed to border on Yangtze River Basin.
