Yangtze River History – Brief Introduction

White-flag Dolphin is a kind of Chinese ancient fish living in Yangtze River history. There are many other kinds of fishes living in China's River. According to Yangtze River history, some ancient kinds of fishes are living in Yangtze River such as Chinese Alligator and Chinese Sturgeon. After centuries, some kinds of fished are died out, some are evolved, and few of some keep the same living habit. In addition, the ancient Chinese culture also originates from Yangtze River.

Yangtze River has advanced navigation ability, for example, the weight of ten-thousand ton ships are allowed to pass through now. Yangtze River History – White-flag Dolphin

White-flag Dolphin is a kind of predators. There are 130 sharp homodont teeth in its mouth. During the development of Yangtze River history, White-flag Dolphin is a kind of highly intelligent of living beings as the same as the orangutan.

White-flag Dolphin usually hunts the food in shallow water at dawn feeding on the freshwater fish of less than 6.5 meters long, besides other few aquatic plants and insects.

When it takes breath, the head always comes out firstly and then with the whole body. About swimming 2 meters away, it will submerge into the water again.

It is not the same as other kinds of fishes; White-flag Dolphin can't see anything. They usually distinguish the changeable surrounding by echo. Thus White-flag Dolphin has important significance of science researching in biology, bionics, and physiology and other professional fields. But White-flag is timid in natural; they usually keep far away from the ships. When you take the Yangtze Cruise on Yangtze River, it is impossible to have a look at them.

With other ancient kinds of animals such as Chinese Alligator, Chinese Sturgeon, paddlefish, besides other kinds of plants such as gingko, metasequoia, silver fir and tree fern together, White-flag Dolphin is the only few survived kinds of living fossil.

Unfortunately, on the 8th August, 2007, White-flag Dolphin of Yangtze River officially became extinct but not died out.
