In Chinese ancient history, Xiayu is the hero of controlling water. Due to govern the flood of Yangtze River, Xiayu came here from Yellow River. But it is difficult for Xiayu because of the high mountains and the rushing river. Yaoji was deeply moved with his behavior. After years, she really changed to the big rock called the Fairy Peak. Her retinues changed to other mountains surrounding Fairy Peak.

The legend of Fairy became more and more popular. People built a Fairy Temple on the terrace of the mountainside due to commemorate Yaoji.
