Mount Loquat Park

The location of Mount Loquat Park is one of the highest peaks in the downtown of Chongqing Municipality, which situates in Yuzhong District with the elevation of 345 meters. There are some scenic spots in the Mount Loquat Park such as Hongxing Pavilion, Fuyuan Garden, Ziwei Garden and Yingcui corridor.

Known as the glaring night view of Chongqing Municipality of China, thus the Mount Loquat Park and Chongqing Nanshan Park are the best place to have an overlook of this city.

Mount Loquat Park – the Origin of the Name

Without any exact history record, the origin of the name of Mount Loquat Park has not been confirmed. It is said that Mount Loquat Park is named from the large numbers of loquat trees in the park. Because we call loquat as "Pipa" in China, Mount Loquat Park is also called Mount Pipa Park.

On the other hand, the word of "Pipa" has another meaning in Chinese that is a musical instrument – a stringed Chinese lute. And because the whole shape of the Mount Loquat looks like the Chinese lute, people called it Mount Loquat Park or Mount Pipa Park.

Besides the two legends above, there is still another saying that a beautiful girl once lived in the Mount Loquat. Every night, she plays the Chinese lute to call his lover who lived in Nan'an District of Chongqing Municipality. The name of Mount Loquat Park or Mount Pipa Park has been called by generations because of the wonderful music she played.

Mount Loquat Park – Attraction

Inside the Mount Loquat Park, there are full of dense forests and lush flowers and other natural landscape, people could have a slow walk on the old winding stone road in Mount Loquat Park with the fresh air in the morning. If you go to Hongxing Pavilion, you can have an overlook of the sightseeing of Chongqing Municipality the same as the Chongqing Nanshan Park.

Known as the name of "Non-night City", large numbers of lights shining Chongqing Municipality when the night coming. Most of local people like to dance in the square at night and have dinner with friends together, which we call the beginning of night life of this city. Thus it is a wonderful experience when you stand in Hongxing Pavilion in Mount Loquat Park at night to have an over look of this city.

Mount Loquat Park – Scenic Spot

There are many scenic spots in the Mount Loquat Park such as Hongxing Pavilion, Fuyuan Garden, Ziwei Garden and Yingcui Corridor and so on.

Due to the rich various plants inside, Mount Loquat Park is also called the "Green Treasure Land" "the Supply Center of Oxygen". If we figure the Yuzhong District as the human body, Mount Loquat Park is called the lung of the body.

Hongxing Pavilion

Hongxing Pavilion was established in 1955 and constructed two floors with eight flying-edges. Hongxing Pavilion located at the top of Mount Loquat Park with total coverage area of 130 square meters.

Fuyuan Garden

Fuyuan situated at the center of the top of Mount Loquat Park with a total coverage area of more than 2000 square meters. There are many scenic spots in Fuyuan Garden with dense green trees and little pavilions.

When the Chinese New Year's Eve comes, you can stand in Mount Squat Park to watch the fireworks of Jiangbei District and Nan'an District.
