Shennong Stream originates in the southern part of Shennongjia Natural Reserve and flows through Badong City Hubei Province, inflowing the Yangtze River at Wu Gorge. It is a tributary of the Yangtze River with 60 km long. Shennong Stream climate mainly belongs to the subtropical monsoon climate. The boats will come ashore at a village where the Tujia minority nationality lives. Sitting on the boats, tourists can listen to the local pretty guide's introduction of Shenong Stream. The sampan team consists of captain who steer the boat, and other boat trackers. All of them are from Tujia minority nationality. Their job is to help the boat over the shallow spots along the river. In more specific terms, when the sampan gets stuck, they will get out of the sampan to drag it over the shallow area by pulling on ropes. They are hardworking and hospitable people on this job, which has been special scenery in Shernnong Stream. If you are lucky, you can join in a wedding ceremony.
