Yangtze Cruise Tips - Extra Expense and Notes

Yangtze Cruise

Extra Expense

The extra expense we mention here means all the expenses you have for personal consumption on the Yangtze Cruise. Generally, the ship ticket of the cruise has included the meal charge and landing changes, but it does not include the private consumption like the drinks, laundry service, haircut, hairdressing, massage and entertainment. The general charging standard is as follows, and it is the charging standard of the 5-star Yangtze Angel.

Laundry: 1 to 8 U.S. dollar per dress.

Haircut: Men: 10 to 50 U.S. dollar; Women: 10 to 70 U.S. dollar.

Massage: 15 to 20 U.S dollar per hour.

Drinks: 20 to 100 U.S dollar per day.

Tip: 5 to 8 U.S dollar per day, if getting ashore, you should add 2 to 3 U.S dollar.

All the services need a service charge of about 10 percent of the whole cost.

The general total consumption of the tourist is as follows:

On the 4-star or 5-star cruise, the average consumption per day is 150 to 200 U.S dollar.

On the 3-star cruise, the average consumption per day is 120 to 150 U.S dollar.

On the 2-star cruise, the average consumption per day is less than 100 U.S dollar.

Comparing with the other cruises, under the same service standard, the charging of Yangtze Cruise is rather low and reasonable.

Notes

If the young waitresses talk to you without looking into your eyes, it doesn't mean they are impolite, which is just the traditional costom.

When you are in trouble or get ill, many people may come to take care of you or help you, which doesn't mean you need to pay  the tip.

There are broadcast systems set in the rooms, which is for safety and awarding tourists of the activities or schedule.

The Chinese catering custom has changed, so while having meals, just enjoy yourself, it's unnecessary to left some for politeness.
