Immigration of Chongqing Area

Chongqing Immigration

The immigration task of Chongqing was that by 2009, when the whole project was accomplished, the urban and rural residents for removal and relocation would be 1.0397 million, and the rural immigrants were 0.3534 million. The rebuilt of all kinds of houses were 31, 3373 million square meters, the rebuilt of industrial and mining enterprises as well as structural readjustment were 1397 families. There were also the rebuilt of the facilities of the ports and docks. Under the right direction of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, with the great support of the ministries and commissions, with the great efforts of the relevant department and people, the immigration of Chongqing area scored tremendous achievements. Since the implement of three gorges immigration in 1993, to the second stage acceptance of 2003, in Chongqing area, the investment had amounted to 29 billion Yuan, there were 2 removal cities, 6 removal counties, 51 towns, 25 bridges, 11 water works, 1200 square kilometers long roads, 0.5776 immigrants and 20.41 million square meters houses. At the same time, 888 houses of submerged industrial and mining enterprises were removes, 8 ports and 47 wharfs were removes and rebuilt. Besides, the protection of the ecological environment, the managing of geological hazard and preservation of cultural relics were effective, fulfilling the periodical target of three gorges project. By 2004, the investment of immigration item was 3.3 billion, with immigrants of 0.1138 million, rebuilt of houses of 2.87 million and removal of industrial and mining houses of 200 houses. By the March of 2005, the investment had added up to 3.463 billion Yuan, and the relocation of immigrants were 0.826 million, achieved the planned object.
