Tibet Geological Minerals Museum

Brief Introduction

Tibet Geological Minerals Museum was built in the April of 2003, being the only geological minerals museum of Tibet, and it is with an urban area of 8600 square meters. In the museum, there are many rich mineral products of jewelries as well as the products of Tibetan culture and features, including the mysterious Dzi Beads, calaite and red corals.

The Display in the Museum

On the first floor of the museum, there are all kinds of raw ore of precious atone, allowing us to get to know the development process of the Tibetan geology and landforms as well as the formative factors of the precious stone. At the same time, the museum displays the unique Buddhism culture of Tibet. Paying a visit there, we may have a deep and overall understanding of the mineral resources and religious culture of Tibet.

On the second floor of the museum, what is on display is the Buddhist Triratna, which is the most special. In addition, there are the Tibetan Dzi Beads, been known as the most mysterious precious stone of Tibet, has been the holy tribute for the offering of Buddha. At Tibet geological museum, we may see the authentic pure Dzi Beads and get to know how to distinguish the authentic Dzi Beads from the fake ones.

On the third floor of the museum, you may enjoy the display of the Tibetan unique thang-ga, Buddha Statue as well as the religious cultural arts. What's more, there are masters from the Buddhist colleges to pray, Kaiguang (driving off the evils) and mpro for the tourists. The museum uses eighty percent of the money the tourists pay for Old Dzi Beads and thang-ga to the construction of tsang temples and the hope schools.
