The Painted Wall

The Ancient Buddha Cave is located at the top of the Jinfo Mountain, being a famous natural cave, formed about 350,000,000 years ago. In the cave, there is the unique painted wall, formed as a result of the agitate waters of the Qiangu River. The natural painted wall was discovered by the scientific expedition team by accident when they exploit the Nanzhi Cave. According to the preliminary affirmation, the painted wall is more than 300 meters long and 30 meters high, with an area of 9000 square meters. On the painted wall, there are landscapes, sceneries, birds and beasts, rivers and lakes, high peaks and so on, all of which are lifelike and vivid. The captain of the scientific expedition team as well as the geologist, Zhushunzhi, thinks that the printed wall is made up of the black rocks of the Paleozoic (about 250,000,000 years ago). As the rock is broken, the calcite filled in it later on, thus here appeared the black and white printed wall, with strong contrast. According to him, the printed wall of Jinfo Mountain is natural and extraordinary as if done by the spirits, with no mark of being carved artificially, being rare interiorly.
