Brief Introduction of Qianjiang Small South Sea

Qianjiang Small South Sea, used to be know as Small Ying Sea, is located in Qianjiang County of Chongqing, being 32 kilometers away from Qianjiang and with an area of 30 square kilometers. Qianjiang Small South Sea is a scenic spot with high mountains, fresh water, islands as well as gorges. People speak highly of it as the pearl in the mountains and the fairyland on earth. Small South Sea is the best earthquake relic reserved. In the earthquake of 1856, the gateway was clogged up and became a big pool. At the small south sea, you may still clearly see the relic of the collapsed rocks, the broken pillbox and the dam. Around the small south sea, there are beautiful mountains peaks, at the entrance of the lake, there are rare stones and hovering water. In the lake, the water channel crisscross with each other, on the islands, there are thick forest and tall bamboos, all of which present a rurality.

Landscape

The small south sea is with gorgeous mountains, rocks, water, forests. On the lake, you may see skiff and fishing boat floating, the men and women are enjoying themselves as much as they like. The gulls and egrets fly together, the water popples and twinkles between the sea and sky. The wonders vary from season to season. The sight is even different in the same day.

Gold Sand Beach

At the eastern side of the central island, Laoheping, there is the Gold Sand Beach, on which lies many scree arranged in regular. The scree are in the shape of frog, playing with the water, matching the pine forests, camellias and woods, serving as a foil to each other, being verdant gorgeous.

Islands

The cattle back island is the largest and most beautiful island among the three. At the island, there are many graceful folktales and legends. It is mysterious, meaningful, charming and at ease. On the island, there are pine trees and flower trees never wither away. You may see monkeys, musk garden, fowl as well as cottages.The Daoqian Stream behing the island is not wide but deep, cutting of the island with the land. The broken walls of the opposite bank are looking at the giant cattle in the water. The Chaoyang Island is the second largest one of Small South Sea, being famous for the Chaoyang Temple on it. When you land the bank by the steps, you may hear the crow and bark. The landscape of fields and gardens leap to the eyes. On the island, the rare and precious hemlock has a noble revolutionary spirit and great enthusiasm and the old pine tree combines the sky with the clouds. The bamboos rise up into the sky, being thick and thin.

The Snacks

Qianjiang chicken giblets is a representative dish and very famous. The dish uses the cooking style of tujia, with the ingredients of chicken intestine, chicken liver and chicken hearts. The chicken meat is cut thin, mixed with chopped potatoes, pickled pepper and onion to cook. With spicy-hot taste, bright color, pure and aromatic smell, you may eat it while cooking, and you also may add some vegetables in it, being a special tujia dish.
