Zhuoma Valley Scenic Spot is situated at the Naqu County of Northern Tibet, and it is 230 kilometers away from Lhasa and 11 kilometers away from the 108 national roads. Though Zhuoma Valley is 4700 meters above sea level, the scenery there is gorgeous, with verdant forests, fragrant flowers, clear lakes and vigor. This place is as beautiful as a fairy, so people call it the Zhuoma Valley Scenic Spots.
Zhuoma Valley Scenic Spot is 15 kilometers long. The sights of the two sides of the valley are quite different from each other. On one side, there are the snowcapped mountains, wrapped in silver and white, just like a fairy maiden wearing a puree white hada. While on the other side, there is verdant frutex, full of vigour. The melt of the Snow Mountains becomes a clear mountain stream. As the old saying goes, there are four seasons in a mountain, while it is quite different each ten miles. Zhuoma Valley is most amazing in summer, the grassland in front of the valley just kikes a green carpet, greeting tourists from a far place. When driving on this green corridor, you may feel as if you are in a Xanadu and the fresh air makes you completely relaxed and happy. At the top of the snow mountain, there are lannerets soaring, while on the eastern hillsides, we may see some animals of the grassland, such as: sheep, marmots, hares, rats. The blue sky, clear water and Snow Mountain form a unique sight of plateau. At this place, we also may see the special physiognomy corroded by the glacier, jagged rocks of grotesque shape, extraordinary as if done by the spirits, fascinating and charming.
Lhasa is at the northern side of Himalayas and with the influence of down air stream, it is usually sunny, with little rainfall. It won't be too cold in winter and never too hot in summer. The extreme temperature is 16.5 subzero and 29 degree Census, with the annual average temperature of 7.4 degree Census. The rainfall is mainly in July, August and September, with 500 millimeters per year. The time of sunshine is more than 3000 hours, with the name of the city of sunlight. July, August and September are the best time for your traveling there.
First, when seeing flocks and herds with red, yellow or green fabric labels wandering about the field, never whip them in or hurt them, because the are the sacrificial offerings for God of Tibetan people. In addition, never use your shotgun to kill the eagles and vultures, because the Tibetan people taboo your hurt to their god birds.
Second, never go into the temples without permission, and never smoke in the temples. You can only enjoy the sight of the articles but no touching or photographing.
Third, when walking in the tents and habitat rooms of Tibetan people, never step on the thresholds.
Fourth, when you see the Tibetan people sticking out their tongues, it means they are showing their respects not laughing at you. When they put the palms together, it is just a kind of formality.
Fifth, celestial burial, neither the Tibetan government nor the travel agencies encourage tourists to see the celestial burial.
Sixth, never buy furs, horns of Tibetan antelope and bones of yak.
