Tsedang County

Tsedang County is 191 kilometers away from Lhasa and 87 kilometers from Minya Konka airport. It is located at the eastern part of the confluence of Yalong River and Yalung Zangbo River. Tsedang County belongs to Nedong County, and now it is the seat of the Shannan official. It is at the altitude of 3560 kilometers, with the urban area of 3 square kilometers and population of 17,000. Tsedang County is the Transport hub of the southern Tibet. It owns a perfect equipment of commerce, catering, transportation, finance, post, radio and TV, education and health. 2 kilometers south from Tsedang County, it is the Nedong County. Tsedang used to be interpreted as "Zitang", "Ze" as playing, "Dang" as the plate. The name of the place was originated from the myth of Kwan-yin Bodhisattva revealed the hanuman to have sexual intercourse with the raksasi to repopulate the earth, and it is said that their offspring came to have fun there. Tsedang is the only state-level scenic spots, and the center of the Yalong River scenic sports. The Tsedang hotel, built in 1984, is the only three-star hotel on Nanshan.
