Hechuan Fishing City Scenic Area is located on the Fishing Mountain, Heyang Town, Hechuan District. It covers an area of 2.5 square kilometers. As the first batch of national scenic area which was announced by the State Council in 1982, it attracts a certain amount of tourists every year but its popularity is still not very high. The ancient walls of Hechuan Fishing City Scenic Area was rebuilt on the original walls, and it still has a magnificent view. Gazing at the ancient forte on the walls, we can see the rolling water of Jialing River, and the confluence of Jialing River, Fujiang River and Qujiang River. Besides, when we meditate in front of the ancient forte, the clamors of the Fishing City War as if still lingering around our ears. Although the war was over for a long time, we still can find the imprint of the war from the 8 kilometers walls, 8 gates, fortes, plank roads, navy dock, and barracks which dates back to the Song and Yuan dynasties. Even the "ancient barrack" which still offer the accommodation to the people has a strong military colors.
