A Brief Introduction to Tieshanping Forest Park

Tieshanping Forest Park is praised as the "Green Pearl" and is one of the four natural forest parks of Chongqing. It is regarded as the lung of the main urban areas of Chongqing. Tieshanping is a mountain which is 50 li (25 kilometers) long with the main peak of 584 meters. It belongs to the Huaying Mountain range. Tieshanping Forest is about 20 kilometers away from the main urban area of Chongqing.

Attractions of Tieshanping Forest Park

Tieshanping Forest Park is the natural oxygen bar in Chongqing suburbs with18,000 mu (1 mu=666.67 square meters) forest. In winter, it is not too cold while in summer not too hot.

Natural Landscapes in Tieshanping Forest Park

There are many attractive natural landscapes in the Tieshanping Forest Park such as the hot springs, Arhat Cave, Dishui (dripping) Rock, Wuduo Stone and so on. Various vegetations are growing in the Tieshanping Forest Park. Beautiful flowers are always in blossom all year round. In winter, about 1,000 mu (1 mi=666.67 square meters) winter sweets garden is full of small yellow pretty blossoms, which are exquisite as if they are carved by the great sculptors. With lush forests, fresh air and temperate climate, Tieshanping Forest Park has become the nearest tourist resort and summer resort of east Chongqing.

Cultural Landscapes in Tieshanping Forest Park

Tieshanping Forest Park is not only abundant in natural landscapes, cultural landscapes can also be found here in the forest park. According to the historical record, there were already some people living here in Ming Dynasty. The famous relics of Sengguan (monk officials) Temple in which the Emperor Jianwen of Ming Dynasty once stayed is still kept in good condition here. The tomb of Li Ting-an officer in Qing Dynasty can also be found here.
