Legend of Bayue Mountain

According to the legend, there was once an immortal named Ye Yingfan, arranging the layout of mountains. His work was just like the plough work of peasants. Today, the majority of the mountains in the hometown of Ye Yingfan run south-north. However, Bayue Mountain is an exception. It is said that when Ye Yingfan got tired and took a rest, the Bayue Mountain became solid in the trend of east-west. It was a mistake of Ye Yingfan. So he was punished to do heavy physical tasks. History of Bayue Mountain

Bayue Mountain was originally called Nukun Mountain and Lufeng Mountain in the old days. In Song Dynasty, the mountain was dark green with the lush and luxurious vegetations covered on it. At that time, the name of Nukun Mountain was changed into Bayue Mountain for that it was near the Bachuan County. Since then, it has always been called Bayue Mountain.

Attractions of Bayue Mountain

Bayue Mountain is composed of 35 steep and beautiful peaks. With peaks after peaks, Bayue Mountain seems more deep and serene. Sceneries of karst landforms are rich here. Deep and tranquil caves, crystal and clear springs, lush and green trees, grotesque stones, together with hazy clouds and mists, all of these form a picturesque fairyland.

Bayue Mountain can be a perfect resort to make a close contact with nature. It is one of the "Top Ten Small Views of Chongqing". Stretching like a giant dragon, Bayue Mountain is praised as the "Bayue Dragon". With high forest coverage and rich content of negative oxygen ions, Bayue Mountain is called the lung of Bachuan.
