A Brief Introduction to Summer Ice Cave

Summer Ice Cave lies on the upper reaches of the Daning River and in the pristine forest of Hongchiba mountain meadow which is 80 kilometers east of the Wuxi County of Chongqing. The cave is 2,200 meters high above the sea level. The Summer Ice Cave is on the geologic layer of Triassic limestone. The stone layer leans 30 degrees. Mouth of the cave faces the east and is in the shape of triangle with a height of 5 meters and a width of 10 meters. The inside cave barrel is 40 meters long, 50 meters wide and 20 meters high.

Attractions of Summer Ice Cave

Since the height of the cave bottom is lower than that of the cave mouth, every year in the summer, when there are already dark green trees and colorful azaleas outside the cave, the view in the cave is still a world of ice, thus it is called Summer Ice Cave. The sight of summer outside the cave and the sight of winter inside the cave form a stark contrast.
