The Development of Fengdu Tourism

Since the impouding of Three Gorges Dam, the north bank has formed the biggest cultural scenic area of ghost culture and become the classic scenery of Fengdu Ghost Culture Tour. There are Palace of Ghost World, the biggest ghost rock carving in the world and national forest park, Shuanggui Mountain. On the south bank, there are Nantian Lake, Xueyu Cave and Siping Forest Park. It has become a leisure natural scenic area which combines dissolved cavern and rafting.

Visitors can enjoy natural sceneries, custom and traditions and famous ghost culture in Fengdu Ghost City. Therefore, Fengdu is announced to be one of the important national scenic areas of China by State Council. In 2000, Fengdu was also announced to be one of the first group of national AAAA scenic areas.
