Brief Introduction of Fengdu Ghost City

World famous Fengdu Ghost City, situated on the northern bank of Yangtze River, is called "Home of The Chinese Divine Comedy". It is an artistic treasury of local tradition and culture which is blended with Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism.

Fengdu Mingshan Mountain used to be called Pingdushan Mountain. It is one of the 72 blessed lands of Taoism. The name, Mingshan Mountain, comes from a poem written by a famous poet of ancient China.

Nether World

Ghost City resembles the justice system of human society to build a strict nether world with the functions of arrestment, detainment, interrogation, judgement and education. It punishes the people who commit sins before he dies.

Although the Ghost City is just legend, the educational function of it is apraised by people. The entire area of Ghost City is covered with green trees and exquisite buildings. Temple Fair of Ghost City

"The Temple Fair of Ghost City" is held on the third of March of Lunar year. The performances of the fair, including The Wedding Ceremony of the King of Hell, The Inspection Visit of Chenghuang (the city god), The Marriage of Zhongkui's Sister and Ghost City Dance, are interesting and marvelous.
