In 1927, Chaotianmen Pier was built here because of its location. The present Chaotianmen Pier, also the Chaotianmen Square is the best place to watch the scenery of the 2 rivers. When it is summer or autumn in Chongqing, visitors can clearly see the dividing line between green Jiangling River and yellow Yangtze River. It is magnificent and splendid. These two rivers forms the golded waterway of China.

Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge

Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge, located at the joint point of the Yangtze River and the Jialing river, runs 4.88 kms with 522 meters spanning the Yangtze.

The bridge has been completed on the 29th. of April in 2009. Its span is 522 meters, even longer than Sydney's Steel Bridge. It is the world's longest arch bridge. And it connects with three main central business districts of Chongqing, Jiefangbei (People's Liberation Monument), Jiangbei and Danzishi.

The double-decker and double-track highway and light rail bridge has six lanes each way. Its approaches connect three flyovers on the banks.
