Brief Introduction of Fengdu Ghost City

Fengdu Ghost City, situated on the northern bank of Yangtze River, is called "Home of The Chinese Divine Comedy". It is an artistic treasury of local tradition and culture which is blended with Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. Ghost City resembles the justice system of human society to build a strict nether world with the functions of arrestment, detainment, interrogation, judgement and education.

The entire area of Ghost City is covered with green trees and exquisite buildings. You can often hear drums and bells of temples and enjoy the delicate beauty of the mountains. Poems were written about it by a lot of famous poets.

"The Temple Fair of Ghost City" is held on the third of March of Lunar year. The performances of the fair, including The Wedding Ceremony of the King of Hell, The Inspection Visit of Chenghuang (the city god), The Marriage of Zhongkui's Sister and Ghost City Dance, are interesting and marvelous.

It is awarded The Largest Cliff Carving and Scuplture in the world by the headquarter of Shanghai Guinness World Record. This giant sculpture is 138 meters high and 217 meters wide.
